How Tattle Tail behaves on a wall
Our estimate, worked out from the hex colour, puts the light reflectance value of this PPG Paints shade at about 17.9; PPG Paints's own figure may differ. At an estimated LRV of 17.9 this is a dark shade. It absorbs far more light than it gives back, which reads as depth in a bright room and as gloom in a north-facing one. Expect to prime if you are covering something much lighter. For trim that reads as a clear edge rather than a smudge, aim about 30 LRV points away — roughly LRV 48 and up. Its red channel runs ahead of its blue, so it reads warm and will sit comfortably next to timber, brass and terracotta. Order by the code, not the name, and put a test patch on the wall before you commit — a screen cannot show you how this shade behaves in your own light.
Tattle Tail equivalents in other paint brands
The closest color to PPG Paints Tattle Tail from each brand we carry, measured with CIEDE2000 on the manufacturers' published color values. Below 1 the difference is practically invisible; below 2 you'd only notice it with the chips side by side. Screens and printed chips aren't paint, so compare real samples before you buy. In the Muro app you can put two of them on a photo of your own wall and look at them in your light.
