How Iris Mauve behaves on a wall
Our estimate, worked out from the hex colour, puts the light reflectance value of this PPG Paints shade at about 35.2; PPG Paints's own figure may differ. At an estimated LRV of 35.2 this sits mid-scale — dark enough to hold its own against white trim, light enough not to close a room in. Mid-tones shift the most between daylight and lamplight, so check it at both ends of the day. For trim that reads as a clear edge rather than a smudge, aim about 30 LRV points away in either direction — under LRV 5 or over LRV 65. With 31 points between its strongest and weakest channel it holds a readable brown cast, so it will not flatten into a neutral once it is on four walls. Order by the code, not the name, and put a test patch on the wall before you commit — a screen cannot show you how this shade behaves in your own light.
Iris Mauve equivalents in other paint brands
The closest color to PPG Paints Iris Mauve from each brand we carry, measured with CIEDE2000 on the manufacturers' published color values. Below 1 the difference is practically invisible; below 2 you'd only notice it with the chips side by side. Screens and printed chips aren't paint, so compare real samples before you buy. In the Muro app you can put two of them on a photo of your own wall and look at them in your light.
